First-hand story, from someone at the concert. And I hear that it wasn't uncommon in those days. That's just who Jarrett is...he's confident enough in the creativity flowing for him that he *can* walk out onstage with no idea what he's going to play. I hear that ECM just released a new solo concert CD by him, first in many, many years. I'll definitely have to pick that one up...
