TM is not the "door to eternal bliss". It's more like
a hallway one has to cross after stepping through the
door, a hallway that takes many lifetimes to cross.
There are plenty of other techniques that allow one to
cross, and some of them with much shorter hallways. 

Besides, the TMO wants a much greater tithe than what
new initiates will spend on the items you mentioned
above.
