>From Dana Sawyer: Now we're in Rishikesh for a few days and then we go to Paris to leave for home. No time for new projects. Very hot here now and can only get out in the morning and evening. Had a nice meeting with Swami Narayanand Saraswati yesterday. As you know, he claims to be a disciple of Brahmananda and he's certainly a sweet guy. Loves to have his picture taken (though it's against the rules of the order of Dandis) and has a great smile. He can't speak English and so I made a joke that I could be his translator and we could make a lot of American dollars. He said it sounded like a good idea and seemed to take me seriously! Hopefully, he was joking too. BTW, MMY gave his old ashram here to the government because he owed lots of tax money (according to his neighbor at Ved Niketan ashram). The government has posted a "no entry" sign on the locked gate but someone has busted a big hole in the wall about thirty feet away and we went in and walked all over the whole place. There's lots of grafitt i of the "Sunil loves Padma" variety all over the place and used booze bottles. Sad really. Even the meditation "caves" are collapsing. Great place to renovate and turn into a tourist trap. Haha
