I earned a living as a full-time TM teacher for several
years, and then I got "drafted" to work at US National for
another few years, earning a meagre (very meagre...I think
the most I ever earned was $600 per month, but it was 
enough to get by) for another few years.

Just because not everyone did it doesn't mean it couldn't
be done.

That said, the *fun* and the subjective fulfillment of
doing it were not even in the same ballpark as the times
I spent working for a living and paying for all my teach-
ing activities myself.

I'm not saying that taking money for teaching is bad, per
se.  I'm just reporting my experience, which corresponds
on pretty much a one-to-one basis with a number of other
traditional views on the energetics of spiritual teaching.
