I read this post after reading a New York Times article about Microsoft
millionaires --
people who made a bundle in Microsoft options and retired from software to
enter
other enterprises. Some do, or have done, charity work.

On one of these online forums some years ago, someone told of teaching some
kind
of meditation -- not TM -- for free. These guys made enough money from high
tech
work that they felt they could blow a wad on a worthy cause.

He said he and three buddies spent three months in Holland giving away
instruction.
Their bill for lecture halls, meeting rooms, insurance, publicity and living
expenses
came to US $10,000 for the period.

I may well be out of touch, but I've heard of no wealthy TM teacher who has
used his
or her fortune to teach full time. Well-to-do True Believers may attend
courses, buy
products, sponsor yagyas and donate, donate, donate. But I know of no teaching.
