Ron Paul is CONFIRMED for the Iowa Dec 4th DEBATE! I'm sorry if this is repeat info, I just received this email: 1-08-07 6:39pm ET There has been much talk about Ron Paul being "excluded from the December 4th Fox News debate" and there is still a good number of e-mails going around about this. I believe this all got started from the Iowa Politics (HYPERLINK "http://www.iowapolitics.com/index.iml?Article=109854"http://www.iowapolitic s.com/index.iml?Article=109854) last paragraph about the 5% polling thing. "The debate will be limited to those candidates who have satisfied the following criteria: 1. Announced a formal campaign for President: and 2. Filed the necessary paperwork with the Federal Election Commission; and 3. Met all U.S. constitutional requirements; and 4. Garnered at least 5% of the national electorate as determined by an average of the most recent national telephone polls of registered voters conducted by non-partisan public opinion polling organizations leading up to the registration deadline as determined by Fox News Channel and the Republican Party of Iowa or garnered an average of at least 5% in the most recent polls of Iowa voters conducted by the American Research Group and the Des Moines Register." However, Ron Paul WILL be at the December 4th Iowa debate. "Iowa GOP and Ron Paul Campaign Headquarters: Ron Paul is not out of the debate By Kat | November 8, 2007 LB interviewed the Iowa GOP and Iowa Ron Paul 2008 campaign headquarters. In a live interview on the Soapbox Spectacle, John Zambanini made clear there is no attempt to prevent Dr. Paul from participating in the December 4th debates. Polling of Iowa voters by American Research Group and the Des Moines Register indicated the 5% threshold has been reached. Mr. Zambanini stated that “the campaign would like to remain on friendly terms with the state GOP and any effort to call them in response to claims of Dr. Paul being excluded should be avoided.” Please do not call the Iowa GOP."
