Back in the 80's I had a Fender Rhodes in my apartment. Later I got a Yamaha electric piano. Yamaha's feel most like real pianos. I see them every so often at Costco, but you should go to a music store and try out a few to get a sense of what you want. They go from the very spartan keyboard with a handful of sounds to full blown sequencer/synth deals. If your playing Boogie Woogie you may want to look for a piano that can go out of tune slightly. Makes it sound like the piano has been sitting too close to the Mississippi for that authentic roadhouse sound. I would stay away from flimsy organ action plastic keyboards. They get old quickly. A month ago I trashed the Yamaha for a Kawai baby grand. I am playing more. The sound of an acoustic is soo big, I find myself getting lost in it. This has been at the expense of my guitar playing. Today I was playing guitar and the lack of practice was showing big time. s.
