esoteric?
It may be just they are being trained like their "master"--to attain "Black Rudra"--the form of enlightenment where the ego is not relinquished. It is believed by some that a number of the charismatic holymen selling their wares and oh so prevalent nowadays fall in this category. I honestly don't think this concept
relates to the Pratyekabuddha. Besides, as you well know Vaj, both Rudra and
Ravana are both Buddhadharma protectors. So this Rudraness is ok.
