I didn't see the video yet (I assume it will soon be available on the
web to see for those, like me, that missed it?) but on a cursory
reading of the text in the link you provided below, Doug, I have to
disagree with you when you say "It is very impressive and could seem,
entirely virtuous and unassailable" and "Sounds quite credible the
way it is given. It was a good re-start of the TMmovement, before
Maharishi dies."

Why do I disagree with your assessment, even though I haven't yet
seen the video?

Because of the propaganda line "...world-renowned quantum physicist
Dr. John Hagelin..."

Is it just me or have others FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS cringed whenever
the TMO uses expressions like "world-renowned"?

Is this not the classic definition of "hubris"?

First off, Hagelin is NOT "world-renowned". He is renowned in only
two geographic locations on God's Green Earth and two locations only:
Fairfield, Iowa and Vladivostock, Holland (or whatever that place is
called).

Secondly, even if he WAS world-renowned, please don't TELL me that he
is world-renowned because, by definition, someone who is world-
renowned is renowned everywhere and, therefore, doesn't need a
description of it attached to his name.

It's like continually referring to the "sky" as "the blue sky above
our heads". I know it's blue and I know it's above my head by virtue
of it being both blue and above my head.

People that are truly world-renowned don't need it to be announced
every five seconds unless they truly are NOT world-renowned.

Sorry, this is NOT an auspicious "new beginning" but yet more of the
same old, same old (bullshit, that is).
