I just found an old email I had missed reading, as it missed my color  
scheme to read messages. It was from RuthSimplicity.

She's off the list. (Message from the 4th).

Ethical reasons do apply for people in certain livelihoods, their  
careers hinge on unerring practices and ethics. False insinuations to  
such persons, on public lists are quite simply unapproachable  
deviations. These are (under anonymous designation) sometimes real  
life professionals after all.

They bear no needed response from ludicrous comments. Silence is not  
however, consent.

And so people leave.

A certain level of truth must even inhabit casual, largely anonymous  
speech.

Perhaps we've all only ever assumed we were really "anonymous" since  
about 1965 or so. <- My assertion. :-)
