Iraq and Afghanistan aren't *religious* wars, you see. All the difference in the world. Yeah, right. The only difference I see between Hitchens and the Dutch guy in the article Vaj just posted is that the Dutch guy (being Dutch) probably isn't making any money off of his hatred and insanity, whereas Hitchens is. Remember my rap recently about the different types of "tales of power." Hitchen's article (and Shemp's *intent* in posting it here) are of the first type. They are *intended* to bring people down and suck them into the same low mindstates as the storyteller/writer. They are the polar opposite of tales of power, that have the *intent* to uplift. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FairfieldLife/message/171252 Wright's rhetoric *pales* in comparison to the levels of hatred and elitism and egotism we see in Hitchen's writing. But -- a key indicator of the collective consciousness of the U.S.A. -- he is well paid for writing it, and seemingly popular among a certain lunatic fringe with whom he shares a mindset.
