Yeah, or maybe he'd find his views were reinforced. (HIghly unlikely, IMO, but people osometimes see what they expect.) In any case, whether or not he ever hotfoots it out here, I just wanted to let him know what a great place this can be and that his perception of people being comfortable being miserable (or something to that effect) is an incorrect one. It doesn't even really make sense.
