Since we're telling "Maharishi stories," here's a good
one that involved Sattyanand, told to me by Jerry Jarvis.

It was during a trip to India, and Jerry and Maharishi
and Sattyanand were traveling together, and had to catch
a train. Maharishi and Sattyanand got on the train, but
Jerry, who was schlepping all the baggage, did not. He
was still on the platform when the train started to pull
out of the station.

So Maharishi reached up and pulled the Emergency Stop
handle. The train screeches to a halt and all hell
breaks loose. Jerry scrambles onto the train and is
standing there with Maharishi when squads of Indian
conductors and police come into the car, searching for
the culprit who illegally stopped the train. Everyone
in the car is staring at the three of them.

The police walk up and ask Maharishi, who they didn't
know as anyone except Yet Another Guy In A Dhoti, "Who
pulled the cord?" According to Jerry, Maharishi didn't
hesitate for an instant. He pointed to Sattyanand and
said, "He did."

The police dragged Sattyanand away and he spent the
night in jail. According to Jerry, when he caught up
with them in the next town, Maharishi and Sattyanand
just couldn't stop laughing about it, for days.

Now THAT is a sweet story that I like...
