To put the Darwinian spin on it, Memes that are fitter and reflect reality much more accurately will survive in the long run. I believe that perception expands new memes would crop up pushing old memes into the memetic dust bin. There are three types of memes, Technical memes, Cultural memes and Parasitic memes
