That seems to be a prime technique of most cults--convince the members that they are so "right" and everyone else is so wrong, that any relationships or even basic conversations with anybody outside of the cult is essentially impossible. It almost guarantees that the cult members will stay right where they are, as getting along with others becomes more and more of an impossibility.
