its like that movie, The Right Stuff, where yeager breaks the sound barrier, and at first it looks like the jet he is in will shake apart, buffeted horribly, he keeps pushing it irrationally, and then a near miracle occurs, he punches through the 'sound barrier', a profound illusion, and all is well on the other side. Can you imagine how scared yeager was before he broke through the sound barrier?
