In 1967 there were people lined up all around a large city block waiting for personal interviews to get initiated. Similar in LA. More course, more frequent, still huge, continued in 1968 in Bay area, LA and in Cambridge, DC etc as these centers opened up (or in pre-center facilities -- hotels etc.) Humboldt and Poland Springs had maybe a 1000 participants or so each in 1970 -- and then the big non-indian courses started in Estes park, then Mallorca 1970-71, Mallorca/Fuiggi late 71-72 etc. Tons of money was flowing in, in these years 67-72. I assume that substantial funding of Shankaracharaya seat in those days was not a huge amount -- easily within the scale of all the funds flowing into SIMS.
