There have been 'Willams' in Gujarat certainly since before 1858, the beginning of the British Raj. The Gujaratis are descended from the Aryans who migrated to Gujarat from Georgia around the first century BC. But there is no evidence that the inhabitants of Lothal supported the 'caste' system.
