Lawson, indulge me here.  Are you seriously trying
to make a case for a spiritual teacher's "worth" or
"validity" being measurable by how successfully he
was able to ride on the coattails of a rock group
and a TV entertainer to his own personal fifteen
minutes of fame?

Seems to me if "world famous" were a valid criterion 
for studying with someone, you'd be shacking up with
Billy Graham or the current Dalai Lama.  Both are
far more well-known worldwide than Maharishi is, and
to be honest, both are more respected.
