Not to comment on MMY's paranoia or lackthereof, but CIA operatives present at 
a 
meeting may not be a small matter, depending on what their mission is...

Personally, paranoia aside, I think MMY uses "CIA" the way many others do: as a 
catch-all 
for any covert US agency/operation. In the 70's, TM, like all other 
non-Christian 
organizations, was indeed a target of the US government. TM especially, since 
it was so 
popular at that point.

Whether or not MMY was justified in worrying, there was a grain of truth to 
what he was 
worrying about.
