Not sure, but have you considered trying the Safari 4.0 beta? It's excellent and the fastest browser I've used. Certainly faster than Firefox. If you have Time Machine installed, use Time Machine to reinstall it fresh. It takes a couple of seconds, and it will act like a new install.
