Did you even read the article on Paxil? If you hadn't already heard
the horror stories of people on Prozac and other SSRI's it's an
interesting read.
I read it and all the other articles and class action lawsuits
about SSRIs when they were first published. This is not
kundalini. It's a regrettably side effect of treatment, and
doctors who know about these and many other symptoms aren't at all
happy that this is all they have right now.
But GABA, which you favor, is a joke. It does not cross the blood/
brain barrier.
It not known whether or not it does cross or how it crosses. But it
does work. We just don't understand the mechanism. It is important
that it is taken on an empty stomach.
L-Theanine seems very similar to me. In fact it increases GABA
production.
This is not a happy time right now for doctors treating many
maladies. There's so much OCD, clinical depression, agarophobia
and bipolar disease cropping up and the treatments lag far behind
what we typically expect from medicine.
I think that depends on who you ask. Talk to an old time psychiatrist
who was around before the current flurry of medicines and you'll hear
an entirely different story.
There are some great strides being made with meditation-based
therapies like CBMT. And good news for effective meditation therapies
is the reality of neuroplasticity. You can actually change your
brain, so high-levels of resiliency are now possible through
appropriate meditative interventions.
