all meditations will benefit actually by virtue of all others.

First, good to see you back, man.

This is an odd phenomenon. I've heard of Sheldrake's
theories and studies before. And in my experience
there is anecdotal evidence to support the idea.

On my TTC there was one person in my immediate group
of friends who began to have CC experiences. Within
a couple of weeks, 8 more people in that immediate
group of friends began to experience the same thing.
Go figure.

I'd write this off as mood-making except that I was
one of them, and know that my personal experiences
were neither expected nor dreamed up. It just hap-
penned. (As it turns out, all these experiences
were temporary, but they were still neat.)

I have heard this same phenomenon discussed in many
different spiritual organizations. T'would seem
that it's fairly well-known, from the minor mani-
festations of it (samadhi being more common in
group meditations than on one's own) to the more
flashy manifestations of it (say, one person devel-
oping a facility with a minor siddhi and several
others developing the same ability within a short
period of time). Go figure.

P.S. To some extent, that is why incidents like this
attack in London worry me. Not only is it easier to
experience transcendence if a number of people are
transcending regularly, it's easier to experience
fear if a lot of people around you are fearful. It
was pretty scary to watch what happened to the Amer-
ican people after 9/11. I can only hope that the
British handle this "field effect" more gracefully.
