Boy, I sure would love to know *which* suburb that was. I grew up on the North side, where everything was status, houses, and $$. In fact, in the early 70s it became known as the Suicide Belt because so many unhappy young people were busy bumping themselves off. Not a great place to grow up and I couldn't wait to leave.
The city of Chicago, however, is a whole other thing--much friendlier and down-to-earth.
