If you're into horror movies. I just came back from Sam Raimi's "Drag Me To Hell" which was a delight. Really. It was very entertaining and more like a dark comedy. It is well executed and never takes itself that seriously. It was fun being with an audience for a change to hear reactions.
Alison Lohman plays Christine, a bank loan officer, who is competing for a position as assistant bank manager. An old lady comes to her to get an extension on her home loan to keep the house out of foreclosure. To look good to the manager Christine turns down the extension. The old woman puts a curse on her and the rest of the film is about her trying to get out of the curse including some help from an Indian mystic. Justin "I a Mac" Long plays her boyfriend and when we first meet him he is having a problem with his printer and Christine (who must use Windows at the office) fixes it for him. And of course Justin's computer is a Mac. So there are some great gags and lines in this film as well as some good fright gags. The film makes a commentary on women competing with men in the workforce. The current economic problems such how the bank can actually make more money if the old woman's house goes into foreclosure (this is actually the case in many foreclosures). And there is some good stuff on black magic and the occult. Well worth a watch.
