So if 7.1 million represents one-third of the
population, as Barry claims, that would mean
the U.S. has a population of about 21 million.

Yup, sounds about right to me.

Of course, he specified *adult* population, so
actually we have to subtract all the children
from the 7.1 million figure.  So not quite 21
million, right?
