Figures for students can go up and down according to political and economic circumstances. More revealing would be the number of new staff they're taking on.

Since they have a very low academic credibility and are well known for not paying very well then I'd hazard a guess that they're slowly losing more than they're gaining. There would have to be a point where MUM simply can't continue for lack of staff. Of course many of the existing staff would work for nothing well past retirement so things could be kept going for a few decades using just the die hard TBs while they wait for the phase transition.

I think the academic element will die out and the movement will just be left selling high priced courses and treatments to the few that can afford it. Except of course that even fewer of those would become teachers, so on present trends it'll die out in 30 to 40 years. Unless something happens to set the movement on a different track.

I think what will likely happen is, TM educational institutions will end up retreating to India. As Islamic extremism increases in India, it will further drive an upward trend in Hindu/Vedic nationalism, which will drive an interest in mythical vedism and "Vedic-based" education, much like progress in the US collective center of gravity fuels creationism, fundamentalism and conservatism in the US. The most organized and obvious outlet in India to fill this need is probably the TM org. The only thing I see standing in the way of this trend is India's continuing modernization and industrialization will also drive an appreciation for rationalism and scientism. The other is of course, Mahesh yogi's horrible reputation in India, but with the TMO propaganda machine, a lot of that could be ironed out over time.
