Okay
I believe seasonally whatever we need is provided at the time we need it
Things go in and out of season for a reason
and locally,
whatever is available to you
in your area
has been put there for a reason
for your benefit
Where I live, big red clover blossums are plentiful
squash blossums are out now
A plethera of items free to eat that were put out there Divinely
for us
As to children, they are at birth naturally curious and it at times is squashed
I wouls say let them get back to their natural love of the outdoors
their natural delight in nature
Tag along with them on a nature trail, in a meadow, forest, etc...
There are berries, leaves, nuts, all manner of edible matter for your physical
body.
Some you can take home and use water with
to make a
.tea
.soup
For instance, under each Queen Anne's lace bloom there is a white looking carrot
Take them
They are waiting to help you
Take the kids after you all look up some edibles , like on the internet, or
books in library, and get each a basket
and read the Stone Soup story to them
Then venture out into the outdoors and
GATHER
Let everyone contribute
Put it all in and eat outside in the wonderful air if you can
Sit
Enjoy each others company
You will digest well and your spirit will be fed also
It is your choice to eat what has been provided in nature
or be a consumer of man made goods
I do go to the store
Do all things Mindfully
Children are people too and they love adventure
Set all the things you gather on the table with some plates and shells to eat
wtih and let them make their own dinner....
let them have the imagination they have been Gifted to them
have some bread maybe set out for them too,
you can bake in flowers/ berries into the bread-or bake in herbs...
Discount children not
They are brilliant
I do this with my children and they amaze me
Let them eat with their hands-they can feel the vibration of the food-very
nourishing.
You do it too
Sometimes when you go on a hike, or walk, conciously look
stop and listen
you will hear the plants talk to you
"Take me"
"Look at me, I am here to charm you with my beauty"
or
"Look at me I am here to heal you !"
Listen
and partake
There is something in your area
Do not give up Hope
Everything has been provided for you Divinely
