Since you never had an OOBE, how can you have an opinion on what such an
experience would mean to your life ?
Having an OOBE is only one way of gaining a broader perspective on things.
It is by no means a prerequisite to avoiding or overcoming a cult mentality,
which would cause one to assume that anyone who calls himself a guru is
without blemish.

Thing is, if you had had an OOBE, quite possebly, you would have seen your
tiny little life on this tiny little Planet from afar and given you a new
perspective. 
I already see it that way. I'm almost constantly aware that my individual
role is tiny bit part in a vast and eternal play.
Fact is; when Rick Archer, the number one rumourmonger on FFL, uses the word
"responsebility" he makes me want to puke.
By all means, puke. Maharishi recommended that to a fellow on my 6-month
course who wasn't having any experiences.
