Just to rub Barry's nose in his error: I have no reason to think "The Simpsons" is mean. On the contrary, I assume (never having seen it) that it's really funny rather than mean. I was making a distinction between "The Simpsons" and Curtis's own *mean* mockery. See my longer response to Barry's post for more about this (that is, if you're not Curtis, who MUST NOT read it, and Barry, who of course won't read it).
