As I understand things, it would be difficult, if not impossible, to "know" in
any
epistemological sense. However, there is a subjective sense in which one
"knows" as a
form of feeling, usually justified by something one observes in the
environment. I observer
such-and-such, thus I know this-and-that.

The classic response of Vedanta is contained in the story of the crow landing
in the palm
tree, in which the teaching offered is that when sees the coconut fall
subsequent to the
crow's landing, one should not assume a causal relationship.

In other words, I was asking Judy's opinion, with no preconceived ideas about
what it
should be.
