LOL. That's a good one, Nabby. To counteract this sometimes well-deserved reputation somewhat, here in Spain the French are considered excellent guests. They seem to leave their natural arrogance and rudeness at home and only display it in their own country. :-) However, since I know quite a few hoteliers here in Sitges, they share the view of Israeli guests you mention above. I have heard quite a number of remarks comparing them to Gypsies, which in Spain is an insult of the highest order. Interestingly, during my time in France the most despised tourists and hotel guests were the Dutch. And for a good reason -- they're the cheapskates of Europe. When they come to visit France, they bring all their own food with them, all of their own bedding and clothing, and never spend a single centime in the local economy. And then they're rude about it.
