Ok, I know that this is a long shot, not coming from the TM
intellectual framework at all, but I'm gonna give it a shot
anyway.

I"ve witnessed real, hanging-ten-in-mid-air levitation. It's
a real kick in the ass to witness. It fucks with your mind. No
matter how long you've told yourself that you believe in the
possibility of levitation, seeing it right in front of you fucks
with your mind. In my opinion, that is one of the aspects
of this particular state of attention (levitation) -- it fucks
with your mind.

The Rama guy I studied with had this particular siddhi
down pat. He could just "lift off" and "hang ten" in mid-air
pretty much whenever he felt like it.

That's the element I would see as the next stage of the
TM approach to flying. The "whenever he felt like it" part.

There is a stage of self realization in which techniques are
very important. They give us something to *practice*, fer-
chrissakes. But there may also come a point when the
practices become redundant. The mental/physical link
in one's brain/soul/atman/whatever has become so "burned
in" to the neural networks that there is no longer any need
to perform the practices.

I suspect that the day that long-term siddhas figure this
out, and just start levitating around the dome saying hi
to one another and giggling to beat all will be the day
that the TM movement gets to see the next stage of
levitation -- doing it just for the sheer fun of it.
