"Greed is an excessive desire to possess wealth or goods;

What exactly is the proper level of desire to possess wealth and goods?

And that raises the question of the proper level of altruism.

Most people, in practice, define proper desire for wealth and goods as "about
what I have -- but more is way greedy." Until a new large raise.

And proper altruism, "about what I give". At what level is atruism too much?

Todays level of desire for wealth and goods would have seemed totally greedy
100 years ago -- by most.Even 50 years ago.

50 years from now goldman sachs bonuses will seem barebones to many -- just
