Some thought that having sex with the Maharishi would give them the most power and prestige. Much more power than just guarding his bedroom door.
But, when the women had sex with the Maharishi, they were bringing the whole TM Movement down to a very low level. They screwed all the other TM Teachers and everyone in the TMO. They did not keep the teaching pure - they did not keep their word; they broke their pledge to Guru Dev. The screwers have made a laughing stock out of the TMO and the Maharishi.
