By the way, one of my reasons for asking the "three
questions" I posted not long ago when meeting new
spiritual teachers is to determine whether students
are "allowed" to realize enlightenment. You'd be
amazed how many paths to enlightenment, led by
charismatic teachers who claim enlightenment, never
manage to produce an enlightened student. That is,
they never recognize one. When one appears,
claiming the experences that all of the students are
hoping for and working towards, he or she is instead
drummed out of the organization for heresy.

Go figure.
