Hmmm, almost two days without something worth reading. But this was good.

Subject: [FairfieldLife] Re: Sex with Goats -- a growing trend

Patrick O'Brian has a scene in one of his early
Aubrey/Maturin novels in which Jack tells
Stephen that crewmen convicted of fornicating with
the livestock must be hanged -- along with the
animal in question. Stephen clarifies that Jack
may, at his discretion as captain, be lenient, a
suggestion Jack follows.

He puts the offending crewman and goat ashore,
but he takes care to put each ashore at a location
widely separate from the other.

And there's this exchange:

Jack: "You take milk, sir?"

Stephen: "Goat's milk, sir?"

Jack: "Why, I suppose it is."

Stephen: "Perhaps without milk, then, if you please. "

Isn't there something in the Laws of Manu about Sex with goats and the appropriate time and circumstances?
