Please ignore the fact that I have never in my life
even *tried* another form of meditation, and thus can't
speak with any sense of authority whatsoever; I "know"
that TM is The Best because I was told it was.

Sounds to me like they never transcended their own superficial
beliefs. Probably hazy TMers who habituate to the comfort of their
inner haze-as-silence.
