The New Madrid fault has also been showing some activity. The last big one I think was in the early 1800s and the Mississippi flowed backwards. Homes and buildings along that fault line aren't set up for earthquakes either. The fault is in Missouri, for those who don't know. Church bells rang in Boston from the shaking, when that one happened. Lots of little quakes in nearby Arkansas these days.
