Most of those establishments would be very old by now , at least 50 years old or
older. Many if not most probably would have gone out of business, changed names,
ownerships, moved and again how many places that openly practiced segregation
would own up to it now. That would almost guarantee a visit from Jesse Jackson
demanding restitution. There was no need to go any further with the story
since it was Al's mammie that said she was forced to wait in the car while they
ate at whites only restaurants. Why didn't Gore find the restaurants and get
testimony from them that they didn't serve "colored" and they were the only
restaurants in the vicinity? Your question works both
ways.
