Many years ago, about the time Sthapatya Veda was starting to show its face at MIU, I had come into town and was on the campus one day. I don't remember why I was there, but I entered one of the buildings, I think where art classes were held. I came in the basement. I think this was the 'approved' entrance, which was facing north. I walked in dark dusty corridors past stored junk. I eventually found my way up into the main part of the building and finished my business. As I left, I forgot all about the thing about which way one is 'supposed' to enter or exit a building. I spontaneously went out the south entrance. I pushed the doors open (I believe later they chained the 'wrong' exits shut) and the sun streamed in, it was autumn, and it was one of the most beautiful scenes I had ever experienced in Fairfield, coming out of a dark hole into the light shining through the golden autumn leaves. I think that is my fondest memory of having been on that campus.
