In the late 1960's, he gave a radio interview where he admitted that had he known that one could attain enlightenment without celibacy, he might have married and had kids. Even so, there's no way to decide. *I* never took his admonishment towards purusha to remain celibate personally and in fact, I recall that his words on the subject were along the lines of "remaining celibate is the fastest path to enlightenment, but for those for whom enlightenment is a strain, marriage is a better answer." Doesn't give one any room to condemn him if he WAS getting a bit of nookie from consenting, unmarried adults, but doesn't answer the point Curtis raised about "abuse of position of authority."
