If I recall rightly, from a study
I did on air ionisation some years ago,
the initial response to these seasonal
winds is indeed a wonderful one of euphoric heightened
energy.  But with the passing of the days
and weeks, and with the winds still blowing,
this continued state of mind and body
can't continue and eventually the body
succombs to exhaustion (admittedly, perhaps only for
those who had deficient energy levels to
begin with).
