Thank you, n, this is more along the lines of what I was originally thinking, 
though, I'm beginning to wonder if it could be possible.
I've looked into India.  They do not allow emigration unless you have Indian 
descent.
I could probably live OK in the US with a million and SS, though there would 
probably be significant tax consequences...
5 mill would be an unbelievably wonderful boon and would certainly set me up 
for the next 20 years.
God knows what, if anything, I actually will get for them.
