I've never heard anyone say they are *identical*--in fact different 
brands of chyavanprash vary in specific ingredients, yet possess the 
same "base". Suffice to say that Amrit Kalash is a type of 
chyavanprash. Since the active ingredient is amla--and its mechanism of 
free radical scavenging is now better understood--it's easier to see 
why chyavanprash in general can give good results.

What's a shame is how this has been made so overpriced.
