Raja Peter welcomed everyone and explained that the Government's Free School programme in England is designed to give parents the choice to send their children to better schools by providing funding to schools that meet all the necessary criteria of local demand and high quality education. The enthusiasm of the education authorities at having found a really successful school is evident from the letter of congratulations from Minister for Schools, Lord Hill, to the Maharishi Free School, stating: "I have every confidence that your continuing hard work and endeavours will mean that Maharishi [School] will become recognized as a flagship of the Free School programme." The deed states that the Maharishi Free School will "provide all the pupils, Consciousness-Based Education (including Transcendental Meditation, the Science of Creative Intelligence and other associated knowledge and techniques) as developed by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and defined by Maharishi Foundation and Maharishi Foundation Limited." The predominant system of education in world is British, and now the British system is changing, so it is going to be cited everywhere as education systems are being transformed to Consciousness-Based Education. He went on to highlight that the actual reason for its success is that under Dr. Cassell's leadership Maharishi School has abided by Maharishi's principles, especially TM and the TM Sidhi programme, the techniques of teaching, connecting every subject to the Unified Field, and the Unified Field to the Self-everything has been done with complete faithfulness to Maharishi, and therefore the results have been outstanding, which has so deeply impressed the education authorities.
