People in the movement always say that by thinking big, even if only 5% of
the project is achieved, more will have been achieved than if that 5% had
been the original goal and only 5% of that was achieved. But I don't think
it ever worked out that way. Doing things in a sensible, incremental fashion
as you suggest would probably have been more successful, but that is
thinking small, and Maharishi didn't like to think that way.

A related tendency was "doing things quickly." After all, the world may blow
up at any time and it's our job to save it. We can't take 6 months to plan a
symposium, giving invited speakers and guests time to arrange their
schedules. So let's plan it for next weekend. Of course, no one ends up
coming, but that's just because the world is ignorant and has it's
priorities mixed up.
