George Will once wrote a column on war and censorship. He noted that during the U.S. Civil War there was one particularly gruesome battle -- I think it was Antietam -- in which the carnage was particularly horrible. He suggested that if there was television at that time and color photography and that it was broadcast into people's homes the way the Vietnam War was, that there would have been such a hue and cry in the North over the folly of war that an antiwar movement would have started up and succeeded and, today, there would be two United States: a northern one and a southern one...WITH slavery intact. > > One time we were driving around the back of the airport (there was a > detour that day, at Dover, and Air Force One, kept circling around > and around, almost landing and then taking off again. > My friend who was with me, said she really thought they had two Air > Force Ones, but that's a contradiction in concepts.., come to think > of it! > R.G. > > R.G. > > > > > > It is quite miraculous that one person, who is peaceful and > loving > > in > > > his/her heart, and has purity of intention, get's so much > support > > of > > > nature, that a miracle does occur. > > > This seems to be happening with this single soul, in Texas, > Cindy > > > Sheehan, moving mountains, to get the issue of the war on the > front > > > burner, where it deserves to be. > > > And, just as our hero's of the past, Martin Luther King, Mahatma > > > Gandhi, gained the right of recognition, and helped their people > > throw > > > off the manicles of slavery, the principle of peaceful protest > for > > a > > > spiritual cause, does cause miracles to happen. > > > And that is why, we can say that the "Good" does always win, in > the > > > end. > > > Like Maharishi says, even one person radiating coherence and > peace, > > > can effect the whole mass of consciousness. > > > Like Maharishi quotes, for the Sanskrit, "The means gather > around > > > sattwa(purity of intention). > > > One who does not believe in Miracles, will not see the miracle, > or > > > recognize the miracle, because the very nature of the miracle, > is > > to > > > break the ego, and some egos refuse to die, easily...and so it > is. > > > > > > Seems to me that the War would be on the front burner of the media > > right now, regardless of which example of it was being used. > > > > This woman is merely fortunate/unfortunate enough to be the focus > of > > the media right now. ------------------------ Yahoo!
