So how does this jibe with the principle of non-violence? Where's the non-violence if the threat and fear of the American A- Bomb is invoked in order to save your people? ----Perhaps the support to resettle here. Perhaps the resort of American political pressure. It's not merely the threat of the A bomb that makes America mighty but the threat of embargos and public opinion and the free media. It's the threat of loss of American commerce. The Dalai Lama tells sories often about his falcons and
the hawk that trys to kill them and of his air rifle. You can also scare someone
to act a certain way that doesn't hurt them.
I think most intelligent people on earth wish we could
outsmart terrorists and their strategic demands without having to murder a bunch
of people and write it off to collateral damage. That's just a waste in
every way.
We could have outsmarted Al Queda by feeding the hungry
all over the whole world and increasing love of foreign culture, applauding the
efforts of the angry and the fanatic, and diffusing them just like how when
someone gets in your face if you are not angry you often can calm them
down.
Just so many smart techniques to try, as opposed to the
pounding them mercilessly to fuck and gone technique.
