Let me make a prediction via an illustration:

In Quebec in the 1980-90s, both the Canadian federal government and
the Quebec provincial government put so many taxes on a pack of
cigarettes that it was about $6.00 a pack, about 80% of which was
taxes.

But the Indian reservations surrounding Montreal had the legal right
to sell cigarettes free of taxes which they did for about $3.00 a
pack...at one point a survey showed that more than 50% of all
cigarettes bought in Quebec were bought on Indian reservations.

Needless to say, these sales represented a loss of revenue for the
governments...so what did they do? They lowered the taxes to
compete with the reservations' prices.

Perhaps this is what will happen with independent teaching of TM:
there will be such an upsurge of independent TM teaching which will
represent a great potential loss of revenue for the TMO that they
will, ultimately, lower the price.
